The efficiency of water use in an economy is measured by the comparison of water input (m³ or million m³) with per unit of gross domestic product (GDP). All six countries have succeeded in increasing their gross domestic product (GDP at purchasing power parity at constant price), whilst resulting in decreasing water inputs per unit of GDP since 2000. Water use efficiency, unfortunately, has not increased significantly since 2000.
