The application of nature-based solutions needs to be explored further. While the number of specific options for water stress is limited, the associated approach and stakeholder involvement offer a way forward for integrative solutions to complex problems. Natural water retention measures and aquifer recharge are promising options, but to be effective they must be implemented at sufficient scale. This requires precise assessments (models) and co-ordination.

A general comment to this part: if the report extend the descriptions of the areas in Europe where the groundwater is over-exploited or in serious water strees, then the conflicts in relation to surface solutions in respect to green solutions would come much more into play.

We highlighted the interactions between groundwater and surface water and further the impacts of socio-economy. In chapter 6 we adress the options that exist in green solution and added some further assessment on it.
