RECREATE stands for “REsearch network for forward-looking activities and assessment of research and innovation prospects in the fields of Climate, Resource Efficiency and raw mATErials”. It is a Coordination Action funded by the European Commission in the context of its FP7 programme. It is carried out by a consortium consisting of 15 key stakeholders from European research and industry and is led by the Joint Institute for Innovation Policy (JIIP). The project has started in July 2013 and will run until June 2018, which allows for it to provide its inputs over the entire programming period of H2020.
Amongst other activities, RECREATE will develop impact assessments, foresight analyses (up to 2050), trend analyses and a scoreboard. In all stages of the project it is of utmost important to truly involve a large number of stakeholders in the process. Essential elements in these activities are the annual large scale (90-100 participants) workshops which serve not only the presentation of results but also the collection of feedback in a highly interactive manner. The outcome will be central in the further development of the project and its outcomes.
This first workshop will concentrate on the methodological underpinning of the project activities. As RECREATE will develop a variety of complex analyses, a sound and well worked out methodological approach is crucial for the coherence, quality and usefulness of the results.
