Short description from SERIS (old):

Portugal’s State of the Environment Report (REA) is published annually and assesses the environmental situation in Portugal, identifying progress made but also the main challenges vis-à-vis the commitments and goals undertaken in this area. The REA is thus an annual, informed wake up call for the sustainable management of Portugal’s environment in the context of sustainable development.

Overview of table of contents and indicators in report

The REA 2014 starts with the usual national socio-economic framework, followed by a chapter updating the macroeconomic scenarios presented since the REA 2013. As usual, the REA 2014 updates a set of environmental indicators grouped into seven thematic areas: Economy and Environment, Energy and Transport, Climate and Air, Water, Soil and Biodiversity, Waste and Environmental Risks.
